Has the enemy ever run ‘from' you?

“I am certainly not invincible by any means, but I am learning how to stand my ground. I feel free to ask God how to take the next step forward, how to lock down the armor I have as much as I can, and how I can stand firm as I build more.
In the Eph. 6 passage about God’s armor, He states that we are to:
· stand against
· withstand in the evil day
· stand firm, and
· stand therefore....agaisnt the enemy!
We will get into this more deeply later. But think about this now—as you build your armor, the enemy is required to respect that armor. The same word for “withstand” that is used here, is used in James 4:7: “Resist the devil and he will flee” (emphasis mine). How is that possible? He is fleeing Jesus, not you. It is Christ ON you and IN you that he is fleeing. The enemy has to flee.
At this moment you may be thinking, “I’m not sure I’ve ever noticed the enemy fleeing from me or Christ in me. I’m not sure I could ever imagine that in my life.” But remember, it’s God’s armor you’re building, not yours.
The enemy of the universe has got to be ticked since he has to flee from us tiny humans. But it is Christ, the armor of God, which does that.
It must be humiliating to satan. But do we believe that? Jesus gave the twelve apostles power to heal and cast out demons. Whether or not you believe that disciples today have that same power is up to you. But this armor is for every follower—every follower. But you must build it up in Christ (see Luke 9:1, 6). As we move forward, our armor faces forward. God is your “rear guard.” “For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard” (Isa. 52:12). So, God has your back.” In Tiny Armor, p. 36.
